Peter will always be remembered for his wicked sense of humour, charisma, his love of nature, especially his beloved Hamiltonstovare hounds, and the smiles he brought to those he met. No matter a person's station in life, he could win them over. He was a no-nonsense man, who didn't suffer idiots and would bluntly tell you if he thought you were being stupid. However he was always willing to share his time with those he cared for. From work colleagues, family and friends, those whose lives he touched will forever be changed by his influence, and deeply heartbroken by his loss.
He fought valiantly against small cell cancer, living far longer than doctors imagined. Helped enormously by the dedicated oncolgy team at Addenbrookes. Unfortunately, no matter how strong and determined he was to win this battle, he succumbed at home, only a few short weeks after he had been told his treatment was no longer working and the cancer was spreading.
He was a natural at socialising and taught all around him so much about perseverance and never being too old to learn. He was playful and affectionate, and life is a little less bright because of his loss. No matter where he is, however, the love he had for his family, for his dogs, and for his friends will always be felt in our hearts.
This page is here for those whose lives were touched by Peter to remember him fondly and tell stories about him. He would want us all to think of him as he was in his prime, not how he was when he passed.
